A few years ago when I was just setting out on this wonderful journey of being a photographer I was looking for pet models to practise on and Donna & Vanda contacted me about photographing their 3 rescue dogs.  I remember it well, down on Worthing beach literally getting the dogs to jump through hoops for me!  They lost one of their dogs recently and devastated, they came back to me for some extra prints of him from that shoot as they missed him so much – of course after all the help they gave me when I was starting out I just gave them the files – I don’t even want to think how I’ll be when anything happens to any of my 3 dogs so I really wanted to help them.  Muddy left a huge gaping hole in their lives but eventually they found it in their hearts to find room for another companion…. this time rather a lot smaller but I think her personality definitely makes up for her size!  Miska means little mouse but apart from her size there’s nothing small about her 😉  Isn’t she just the cutest!?  What an honour to capture her so young – so confident already… totally adorable!

This is Milo and he is one gorgeous collie dog!  So friendly and well behaved and totally and utterly ball-obsessed!  I love photographing pets – it’s how I started out on my photography journey.  Milo had his moment of fame one evening last week during our mini heat-wave and the light was amazing, really lighting up his eyes for the portrait shots and the sun setting behind him shone so brightly, setting his fur on fire!  Not always easy to capture a dog mid-flight in the fading Autumn evening light mind you, but I am pleased with the results and thankfully so are his owners 🙂  Prepare to swoon all dog lovers out there – isn’t he a beaut! 🙂

If you have a pet or pets you would like photographed go on and make my day, ring me & book me! 🙂  enquiries@nfelthamphotography.co.uk or 01243 587517.

It’s crazy busy at the moment with weddings and it being the school holidays but I’m still able to squeeze in the odd family shoot at weekends or in the evenings!  Last weekend I nipped down to my local beach fairly early in the morning to meet up with Alan who had his two daughters and their families all staying and wanted a lovely family portrait of them all together.  I was greeted by all his gorgeous grandchildren and their cute little dog Riley and we then spent just over an hour playing in the sand and shallow waters and managing a few “safe” shots of everyone together for the lounge wall!  Here are some of my favourites – what a good looking family!

If you would like a family shoot too then please give me a call on 01243 587517 or email enquiries@nfelthamphotography.co.uk

I had a great mother’s day this year, yummy bagels in bed with smoked salmon and phili cheese, fresh coffee and chocolates, lots of cuddles with my 3 sons then… an afternoon of not being mummy and doing my “other job” down on the beach!

It was the first time I had met Vivien & Dan – they booked me without meeting me because they loved my work and we got on so well on the phone – can’t tell you how flattered I was about that!  Vivien loves the vintage look and their wedding in June this year at Gaynes Park is set to be absolutely gorgeous and I cannot wait!  Vivien like me is hooked on weddings and any brides & grooms-to-be HAVE to have a look at the gorgeous wooden cake toppers she makes & sells in her Etsy shop Angel in My Attic.

Coming from London, Vivien & Dan really wanted a beach photo shoot for their pre wedding pictures and what better place to meet than West Wittering – a truely stunning location for photos and one of my absolute favourite places ever.  What could make the shoot even better I wonder…?  Dogs of course!  Vivien & Dan’s adorable little fellas George and Duke had a wonderful time on the beach running on all that sand and they were just too cute for words in the photos!  Well, Vivien and Dan looked pretty darn good too – they were rockin’, smokin’ & generally ooozing gorgeousness!  I make no apologies for not being able to whittle it down – well OK I apologise just to anyone still on dial up with no broadband 😉  Ok, ok… here they are…!

Sadly we did not jet off to the real L.A for this shoot, rather the L.A as in Littlehampton as us locals call it 😉  Great location though and award winning cafe with delicious fish & chips and cakes!  Laura won this photoshoot in a raffle – I donated it a while back to Lurcher SOS to help raise much needed funds to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome hounds (as an owner of 3 rescue hounds I always help out when I can with fundraising for these beautiful dogs…)  It’s also a subject close to their hearts as they rescued Gladys the gorgeous greyhound from Lurcher SOS themselves, and she is such a star too!  I wanted to take her home with me!!  I had a really fun morning – Laura & Paul’s daughters reminded me a bit of myself and my sister when we were younger!  The game they played with one behind the other, being the arms and hands for her sister – we used to do that too 🙂

I had a lovely email from Laura today that I hope she won’t mind me sharing…

“Oh my goodness!  Those photos are fantastic Nicki, thank you so much.  It is going to be so hard to choose……..I even like the one of me outside the Cafe – and I NEVER like photographs of me!
E looks particularly beautiful in many of them – I find it hard to recognise my beautiful baby in the very grown up young lady you have captured – and then I see the one of her and F falling off the log, and, yep…there she is!  You have also captured F’s wilder, slightly less lady-like side perfectly….I love them!  As for the one’s of Gladys…….just perfect.”

Thank you Laura for your kind words, it really was a pleasure!  Here are some of my favs….

Nothing beats watching greys running – OFF the track!

Just to prove it, I had a great shot like the one above but Gladys wasn’t in it and Paul said – that’s no good, only 4 fifths of the family in it! 😉

Their oldest daughter caught un-aware…
