Hotel du Vin Wedding Tunbridge Wells ~ Kay & Matt Are Married ~

Kay & Matt’s wonderful day was my first Hotel du Vin wedding and I hope it isn’t my last as I loved every minute of it.  Perfect couple, beautiful hotel, gorgeous weather, stunning dress and fabulous friends & family – with these ingredients you can’t go wrong!  As they are really camera shy Kay and Matt opted to swap the pre-wedding shoot for the silly SNAPstick booth in the evening which they knew, once a few drinks had been flowing, themselves and their friends would make great use of – and they did!  Such a giggle!

I started the day flitting between Kay’s room with the girls getting ready and Matt & the lad’s as they prepped everything for the wedding.  The ceremony room looked so beautiful – shabby chic with a French flair.  The ceremony itself was lovely and after whilst all the guests sipped Pimms and congratulated the happy couple and some confetti was chucked about the staff swiftly changed the room around into a dining hall which looked equally as beautiful with one long banquette table in the centre.

It was such a hot day and with little shade up by the hotel we headed down into the private gardens for a few shots of just Kay & Matt together – despite them being really nervous about this bit we had a laugh and I managed to capture some lovely moments between the two of them that I hope they will cherish (and no doubt have a giggle at too!)  😉

Once the evening guests arrived and the first dance was done and the band had played a few tracks I set up the SNAPstick booth and for the next hour or so my sides ached with laughter!  An absolutely unforgettable day… all that’s left to say is many congratulations to Kay & Matt and thank you so much for letting me share some photos from your day on my blog.

Farbridge Barn Wedding ~ Heather & Joe are Married ~

I’m always happy to shoot a Farbridge Barn Wedding, such a fab venue – a HUGE blank canvas that you can really stamp your mark on, which I have to say Heather and Joe did with such brilliance and style!  I loved all the little details; the gorgeous signs Heather spent ages making with her mum & sister, the fabric hearts that took weeks to make with everyone chipping in.  Some of the material used to make them had come from Heather’s granny’s nighty so it felt she was still with them there in some way on the day.  It’s the little stories like this that I love to hear about – but do excuse me if when you’re telling me I well up!  I’m a bit of an old sop!!

Heather looked absolutely amazing in her Alfred Angelo dress and her gorgeous bridesmaids looked beautiful too in their Grecian-style full length dresses.  Their make-up was lovingly applied by my friend Sarah from Enhance Make-up and wonderful flowers from Jay Archer Floral Design.  Joe’s niece was such a gorgeous little flower girl and I guess Joe didn’t scrub up too bad himself in his dapper grey suit and matching blue floral tie and hanky!  The whole day was just amazing, such a giggle – I loved the ceremony, it was so emotional and afterwards there was delicious food and great service as always from the fantastic team from Buns To Banquets.  And if you love Mr Blue the camper then I think he can be hired again but he’s a family member rather than a commercial vehicle so has to get special insurances for weddings – check out my friend Lucy’s commercial vintage caravans here though, Lucy Jayne Caravans.

There were plenty of tears on Heather & Joe’s big day but mostly they were tears of laughter!  Real big fat belly laughs from the pit of your tummy!!  My. sides. ached. so. much!  Joe disappeared for a bit in the evening – I’d just set up the SNAPstick booth and was getting going (actually Heather and Joe’s friends and family didn’t need to get going, they were straight in there!!) and Heather had no idea where he’d gone.  Then Beyonce’s Single Ladies song came on and there was a mad dash to the dance floor – I think at this point you just need to look at the photos to see the speedos and Lionel Ritchie wig Joe was wearing for his routine with the bridesmaids!… hilarious, well done to the girls for teaching him – no encouragement or arm twisting was needed though, he was loving it!!  Note the shock on the little children’s faces.  Poor things!  Never laughed so much…!  Thanks so so much for booking me guys – I genuinely had the best time ever! xx

Grittenham Barn Wedding ~ Jo & John are Married ~ West Sussex Wedding Photographer

I had such an amazing time photographing Jo & John’s fabulous Grittenham Barn Wedding back in June this year.  I love the venue so much with its rustic charm and beautiful scenery all around.  Jo & John’s wedding day was a blustery one, certainly blew away a few cobwebs and tipped over a few jam jars of beautiful flower arrangements that lined the steps of the barn, but the rain held off and I don’t think anyone minded or even noticed one bit as their wonderful friends and family celebrated their big day with them.  I loved every minute too – I had such a giggle, a little boo during the speeches (!!) and felt so welcomed by everyone.  We started at the Lythe Hill Hotel and Spa for the getting ready shots.  I had recommended Lou of Daisies Flowers to Jo and also Sarah from Enhance Make-up – so it was a little bit of the dream team on hand that day!

The barn looked so beautiful decorated in a vintage shabby chic style – the old wedding photos from the families’ past were such a lovely touch too.  Jo and the bridesmaids all looked amazing in their dresses and John & the boys scrubbed up pretty good too!  I worked alongside Simon from Egg Cosy Pictures who was capturing it all on video – can’t wait to see the results of that!  Hope I wasn’t video-bombing too much – I do try to keep out the way of the film roll!  I also met Alan from Petworth Wedding Car Hire for the first time, what a lovely chap and I rather loved his 1954 Riley, Lady Linda.

Photographing Jo & John off on their own for 10 minutes in the grounds was a real delight, they are so very much in love and you can’t help but smile when you’re around them ❤  🙂  ❤

All that remains is to share some of their hundreds of photos from the day and to thank Jo & John once more for having me along to capture it all for them! xx

London Wedding Photography ~ House of Commons, Westminster & Chainstore Lighthouse Trinity Buoy Wharf ~ Steve & Katie are MARRIED!

Epic doesn’t even begin to describe Steve & Katie’s amazing day back in June in the House of Commons Westminster then the Chainstore Lighthouse Trinity Buoy Wharf, via an incredible boat trip down the river Thames!  It really was such an amazingly fantastic day from start to finish!  Much like the couple themselves – just fantastic – and their friends and families too – my sides ached from laughing along with them all!  Katie and Steve are another wonderful couple who I met first via Skype – they found me online, liked my style and we went from there!  I traveled up to London to meet them for a pre wedding shoot and we hit it off straight away.  Such a kind, caring couple and a real giggle too.  We had such a laugh and I knew their wedding day would be equally as fun which it was – and some!!  I took the lovely Kelly from Lola Rose Photography with me as back up as I had been a bit poorly prior to this wedding and didn’t want that to affect the service I give to my couples in any way.  Kelly was amazing and took THE most awesome photos – I may have mentioned once or twice before (!!) that as well as my dear friend she’s also MY wedding photographer later this year too (yay!!!).  I’m sure Kelly will do a blog of her photos from this wedding in time but I couldn’t do a post myself without including the ones she took of the boys on the way to Westminster on the bridge with Big Ben in the backdrop.  Love love love!!

Clever Katie designed the stationary herself, her beautiful dress was by Augusta Jones and shoes by Rachel Simpson.  The boys looked super slick and gorgeous in their M&S suits.  The scrumptious flowers were by Barns Flowers and Katie’s stunning headpiece was from Dolecka.  I loved the science theme with the conical flasks and test tubes – who’d have ever guessed Steve studied physics and Katie biochemistry?  I’m going to let the many many photos do the talking now – thank you so much again to Kelly for your help and of course to Katie and Steve for booking me and allowing me to share their day on my little blog and a bigger blog too as their day was featured on OMG I’m Getting Married UK Wedding Blog just a few weeks ago as well!

Field Place Worthing ~ Kiera & Dan are married ❤

Way back in June I photographed a gorgeous wedding in Field Place Worthing.  It was the lovely Kiera and Dan’s big day and as usual I was totally blown away to be a part of something so special and capture it all for them.  We started at Kiera’s parents’ house, where she grew up – such a hub-up of activity and plenty of giggles.  Her mum & dad are two of the loveliest mums & dads I know of!  I want to go back and hang out there another time!  They love lurchers too (those tall lanky dogs like greyhounds!) and I have 3 of them so we hit it off straight away.

The ceremony itself was down the road in St George’s church and it was such a wonderful service, those who know me know I can get quite emotional – not blubbing uncontrollably in a corner somewhere (honest!) but I did have a little tear!

After the ceremony and some snaps of the many group hugs from friends and family I whisked Kiera and Dan off to the beach for a few minutes to themselves and to get a couple of photos of them on the busy seafront (OK, so not quite by themselves!) – how on earth we managed to make it look like they were the only two there in some of the photos I’ll never know (funny angles and a bit of photo-shopping perhaps?!!)…

Then we joined the rest of the guests who were settled in nicely with a refreshing drink at Field Place.   Kiera and Dan had decorated the barn there so beautifully with candelabras and gorgeous crystals everywhere and lovely tones of dusky pink roses and turquoisey seat sashes.  It all looked stunning.  I sat with the guests for a delicious meal and after a few group shots just mixed and mingled in getting some great candid shots of everyone just enjoying the day.  A bit later we did some funny group photos with the bridal party – my sides ached for days afterwards!  Then after the first dance and a few boogie woogie shots I left them all to it on the dance floor.

I loved your big day Kiera and Dan and thank you once more not just for booking me but for inviting me to be a part of your day and really involving me in it all xx
