Wedding at Bartholomew Barn ~ Rosey & Peter get wet… ooops sorry wed!

The other weekend I shot a fabulous bright and colourful wedding at Bartholomew Barn.  Just as well it was bright and colourful as the day itself was abysmal.  It rained non stop all day, literally from start to finish and I got drenched!  But Rosey & Peter kept on smiling all day, the weather didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits at all.  Peter’s relatives and friends all came down from Scotland for their big day – where funnily enough the weather on the same day was glorious up there!

I started with the girls and the boys getting ready (separately!) at the Hilton, Avisford Park.  Switching from one room to the other was fun; capturing the girls having their hair done and getting dolled up in one room and the boys getting kilted up in another down the corridor!

Then I followed the lads to the barns where we waited and waited and waited for the coach of guests to arrive.  I think the coach got stuck or due to the rain couldn’t make it down a certain narrow road and had to turn round then possibly got lost… !  They got there in the nick of time though as Rosey made her way down the aisle.  I think she may have even shed a little tear as she did…  They read their own vows to each other and it was a lovely ceremony.  It’s great the barns now has a license for marriages.

Then everyone was shipped outside under the two big umbrellas for a few drinks and canopés as the room was changed round for the wedding breakfast.  Getting candid shots with shoulders and elbows and backs of heads all in the way and everyone in rather close proximity to say the least was tricky but I mingled in with everyone and had a right giggle getting the shots I did manage!

Rosey & Peter nipped out during the meal for a few couples shots – by then I don’t think we minded the rain at all or even noticed it, OK maybe we did a bit!  After the cutting of the cheese and first dance we snuck outside again for a few twinkly light photos before I left them all to dance the night away.  I never did get to find out what if anything is worn under a kilt!!

Beautiful Wedding at Amberley Castle ~ Louise & Freddie tie the knot and celebrate with close family…

I recently shot a beautiful wedding at Amberley Castle where the gorgeous Louise & Freddie tied the knot and celebrated with their close family and friends which was followed by a massive party the day after in a big marquee and a blessing in Felpham church which sadly I couldn’t make as I was already booked!  But I’m so pleased I could come and take some snaps for them at Amberley Castle – wow – what a venue!  I’ve shot there before a few years back and it was so lovely to return.  It’s so grand but also intimate and perfect for the size party Louise & Freddie had.  I started with the girls in the morning as Louise got ready at her mum’s house then I arrived at Amberley Castle bit early to capture Freddie and the boys waiting nervously (!) and the guests arriving.  Then came the heartfelt ceremony – the readings bought a tear to everyone’s eyes and Louise’s younger sister played a beautiful little piece on the keyboard!  After some drinks and canopés everyone sat down to the most delicious meal – me included and it was soooo good!  We held off for the couples shots as it was raining on and off all day and I was ever hopeful for some evening light… I sat and prayed and someone must have been smiling down on us that day as the skies cleared to the most stunning evening light and the 3 of us hot footed it out into the grounds for some photos.  At that point I should have really left poor Louise & Freddie be, but the lure of a funny shot of the bride & groom in their BIG bath tub was too much so I followed them upstairs for a couple more pics then made a quick exit!  Stopping on my way out to get a sweeping shot of the castle from the bottom of the driveway.  Just stunning… hope you will all agree!

Engagement Photo Shoot at West Dean Gardens ~ West Sussex Wedding Photographer

The other week I had another fabulous engagement photo shoot at West Dean Gardens – I think this may be my new favourite place! No snow this time, in fact Jo, John & I sat outside in the pub for drinks afterwards to go through some albums and have a good old chat about their day and we couldn’t believe how warm it was!  Still not many flowers around in the actual gardens but the lambs & the sunshine were both out and of course the blossom in the Victorian greenhouse was still there.

It was great to meet Jo & John and I can’t wait for their wedding in a couple of months at Grittenham Barn.  They are gorgeous together and on camera and just such lovely people too which all makes my job that much easier… I am so lucky to meet so many wonderful people in this job!

Here are some of my favourites from their engagement photo shoot…

Newborn Photography ❤ Meet Baby Mollie ❤ ~ {Bognor Regis Newborn Photographer}

Newborn photography for me is so special, to be allowed in to your homes & lives to capture your wee ones in the first few days when some relatives haven’t even had the chance to meet them yet is such an honour.  Today I would love for you to meet beautiful baby Mollie ❤ – she is so adorable, you just want to squidge her cheeks!  I photographed Charlotte’s bump a few weeks ago and they had a family shoot a few years back when Mollie’s big sister was just 3 years old.  She’s much bigger now and adores the new addition to the family.  I can see she’s going to be a wonderful big sister…  Mum had a bit of a sleepless night last night so hopefully this post with my favourite photos from their session will cheer her up a bit.  Keep strong… you’re a fantastic mum! xxxx

Jo & Chris’s Engagement Shoot ~ On the beach… on a very cold Spring morning!

Jo & Chris get married in just under 2 weeks now and their engagement shoot was postponed several times due to bad weather & yucky bugs, recovering from hen dos and stag dos etc etc !! … in the end we just went for it on Easter Monday despite the freeezing temperatures and wind!  They love the beach so we met down at Ferring for a few snaps along the seafront there.  I can’t wait for their wedding day – they’re getting married in Arundel Cathedral then onto Ham Manor golf club for their reception.  We’ll be spoilt for choice for places for photos but we’re all hoping for some warmer less windy weather!

Here are some of my favourites from their engagement shoot on the beach the other day…

See you soon guys!
