Ann & Paul’s Pre Wedding Shoot ~ plus their 3 gorgeous hounds! ~ West Sussex Wedding Photographer

Ann & Paul’s pre wedding shoot was so much fun, largely due to the hilarity that their 3 gorgeous hounds always bring to the day!  Emmy, Martha and Johnny are all rescue hounds from GRWE and they’re all totally bonkers in the own way.  Emmy has the best pointy ears ever and boy does he love his mum, Martha is loopy and fast and won’t sit still, she is adored by Paul (and Ann too, but mostly she’s a Daddy’s girl!) and Johnny… well he’s just so sweet, not the cleverest hound I’ve ever met (bless him!) but so loveable and fits in perfectly to the family…

They had a photo shoot a couple of years ago on the beach with just Emmy & Martha and we’ve remained friends ever since. When Paul popped the question (and Ann said yes!) they asked me to be their photographer – which of course I said yes to as well! I can’t wait!! Their big day is going to so beautiful (trust me, I’ve seen Ann’s pinterest board!) – at Pendley Manor in Hertfordshire.  I’ve never shot there before but I’m really looking forward to seeing what fab backdrops it has and capturing their unique and gorgeous day there for them.  Will the dogs be making an appearance??  But of course!  Eeeek – there will be one very happy photographer that day!

Here’s a sneak peek of the dark, damp cold day pre wedding photos – we even had a flurry of snow!  Loving Ann’s red coat – really brightens the photos.  Oh and I must say a quick thank you to Ann’s mum for coming along for lead holding duties when Ann & Paul were having some pics on their own.  I say lead holding duties… it was more lead holding, poo collecting, prop lugging around… what a star!  xx

Newborn Photography ~ Welcome to the World baby Kieran

I love newborn photography and capturing babies in their first few days ~ they don’t stay teeny tiny for long!  A couple of weeks ago I went to say welcome to the world baby Kieran and photograph him with his big brother and sister who you may remember from her year in the life of package!

Their mum and I go back a few years to high school and I have good old Facebook to thank for us being in contact again – it’s always lovely to see them all … I’m assured that’s it now, no more little ones so we’ll have to find other excuses to get together after Kieran’s had his 3 shoots!  Whilst he was having some cuddles and top up feeds and being rocked to sleep I made the most of getting some more snaps of big brother and sister having a play in Nanny’s garden.  Then we managed a few sleepy shots of Kieran – adorable ❤ … cute teddy bear hat by Sveta from Butterfly Boutique.

What a gorgeous family you have Jude & Nick, thank you so much for letting me share a few photos on my blog and can’t wait to see you all again in a few months time! xx

Maternity Photo Shoot ~ Carol’s Beautiful Bump ❤

I do love a maternity photo shoot, I think all mums-to-be should celebrate their beautiful bumps and radiance in late stages of pregnancy.  You don’t need to do it a la Demi Moore style, although you can if you like!  There are so many flattering angles, timeless images and fun photos too that we can create to show your child one day or just to treasure for yourselves…  When Carol emailed me last week to see if I could do a “Year in the life of package” I was worried I wouldn’t be able to fit her in with the Easter holidays upon us, as she’s due very soon and my children are off school!  But I’m so pleased I managed to find the time at the weekend as it was so lovely to meet Carol and Matt – what a wonderful couple!  From the brief hour I spent with them I can tell they are going to make fantastic parents – and I can’t wait to meet their little bundle in a few weeks…  Carol, thank you so much for letting me share some of these photos from your mini bump session ❤ keep me posted on any news!

West Dean Gardens Pre Wedding Photo Shoot ~ Wintry Spring day with blossom & snow!

I had such a fabulous time with Hannah & Elliot for their West Dean Gardens pre wedding photo shoot the other day.  What a find!  West Dean Gardens is so pretty – even on a wintry Spring day with a flurry of snow outside!  I couldn’t believe our luck when we found beautiful pink blossoms in a stunning white washed Victorian greenhouse and a couple of vintage bikes just screaming out to be carefully borrowed for a shot!  The scenery there is breath-taking, they actually do weddings too (if anyone is interested, I would love to come and photograph your day there!!) – I can only begin to imagine how beautiful the gardens are in-season with the wisteria all along the 300 ft Edwardian Pergola…

Hannah & Elliot are a gorgeous couple – fun to be with and a dream to photograph.  They love relaxed natural photos which hopefully I managed to achieve for them – Hannah did leave me a lovely comment on my Facebook page so I think they’re happy (phew!).  I could have carried on snapping photos all day but I “let” them go (hehehe) after about an hour as we couldn’t feel our toes any more!  Jeez is was cold!  But… a lovely contrast to what their gorgeous summer wedding photos will be in late August at Duncton Mill Fishery – can’t wait!

The Regis School ~ A Level Textiles & Fashion Show

Wow is pretty much all I can say!  Last week I was totally blown away by a group of young women from The Regis School (you can visit their website here) and their fantastic teacher when I went along to photograph their A level textiles projects & fashion show.  My niece is one of the students and as she has kindly agreed to make my wedding dress for me, (eeeek… how excited am I!!!?) as a favour, I went along to capture her with her friends modelling their amazing creations.  Around 20 or so years ago we made baby bibs out of some terry-towling in our textiles class and the more advanced did some ribbon edging around them!  Haha – these girls are streets ahead of that!  Honestly, from the beautiful black swan to unbelievably gorgeous wedding gowns, there was something for everyone.  Although there’s no way I could pick a favourite – I loved them all!!  Oh and thanks to another wonderfully creative lady – Lou of Daisies in Middleton-on-Sea for the last minute bouquet she did up for me xx

The fashion show was so much fun too – not just the A-level students but talent from all over the school, including my other niece in her fabulous party dress that she made herself and lots of upcycled uniforms having a make-over too.  I think I can safely say my wedding dress is in very safe & creative hands!  Here are some of my favourite photos of the girls… I really hope they come in handy for their portfolios and they all get the top grades they so rightfully deserve for such wonderful work xx
