Mother’s Day ♥ Personal ♥ A trip to the Butterfly, Bird & Beasts Farm in Earnley ~ West Sussex Photographer

Had a lovely family day out a couple of weekends ago for Mother’s Day.  We took Steve’s parents with us and with big beautiful tropical butterflies to look at, my camera had to come along for the ride as well!  My eldest son was a bit freaked out by the size of the butterflies fluttering about in the greenhouse room but my middle son actually wanted to hold one!  Luckily just before we went home one came and landed on him and he was chuffed to bits.  As well as the butterflies there is a room with some parakeets and other birds in.  Watch out in there in summer wearing sandals as there are a couple that quite fancied pecking my feet!!  Apart from that there’s a little park area for the children and a few small animals likes guinea pigs and rabbits, an owl or two, some reptiles and a couple of miniature donkeys!  Quite a quirky little place really, I enjoyed it anyway – not sure the kids want to go back any time soon – perhaps I took too many photos or something?! 😉  After a nice cuppa back at Steve’s mum & dad’s we stopped once more on the way home for a sunset photo… I was one happy and am one VERY lucky Mum 🙂

Tina & Mark ♥ MR&MRS ♥ ~ Mannings Heath Golf Club Wedding ~ Horsham Wedding Photographer ~ West Sussex Wedding Photography

You know what they say… in sickness and in health?  Well this was to be put to the test on Tina & Mark’s actual wedding day as poor Mark was struck with the same bug that Tina had just 2 days before they were due to wed.  Then the same afternoon Tina’s gorgeous sister and wonderful bridesmaid came down with it too.  Thankfully I believe the rest of the guests and myself were all spared the dreaded lurgy and everyone is better now but I did feel so bad for them all – especially as it really was such a lovely day.  We had fantastic weather for a start and Mannings Heath Golf Club is a beautiful venue – Tina and Mark didn’t chose it because they are golf players themselves but because the grounds and buildings are so pretty and the staff there are very friendly and accommodating.  The little cottage that you can hire to get ready in is such a delightful little house which I revelled in taking the getting ready shots and finding places for the shoes and flowers to be photographed!  Then to the dismay of the staff we asked for the old wooden tumble down shed in the car park to be kept clear of parked cars as Tina & I both loved the quirkiness and vintage feel to it.  We had so many plans and ideas and it was just so sad for Mark that he literally wasn’t there for most of the day.  He managed the ceremony (just!) and a mere 2 or 3 group photos with their parents and little boy later in the day.  By the time the speeches came along thankfully he was feeling a little brighter and stayed for those and the first dance.  I had a lovely email from them both the other day just thanking me for the photos I was able to capture and they are delighted that they show what a great time everyone else had on their special day!  I’m hoping to meet with them again later this year for a few more photos of them as a couple and family but in the meantime here are just a few of my favourite snaps from their day.  Tina you really did look so beautiful despite how you must have been feeling.  Thank you for letting me share some photos on my blog.  Speak soon xx

Sara & Mike ~ Worthing Beach & Highdown Hill Pre Wedding Photo Shoot ~ West Sussex Wedding Photographer ~ Worthing Family Photography

Had a fab time last weekend with Sara & Mike and their gorgeous little man on the sunny beach at Worthing for some fun family pictures and then onto Highdown Hill for a few relaxed couple-y shots as the sun edged down in the sky.  Sara is originally from this area and she booked me about a year ago for her wedding in May this year at Ravenswood Hotel, after just two or three emails between the two of us.  Ravenswood is a beautiful venue – I am so chuffed they chose me to be their photographer and without even meeting me first! – (we did have a lovely long chat on the phone though!)  It was great to hang out together for the afternoon and get to know them a bit – such a lovely family and really easy to have a giggle with and therefore to photograph!  Years of Sara living ooop North have clearly made her a more hardy lass though…  can you believe she actually paddled in the sea!!  Must have been freeeezing!  (Now isn’t there a lake at Ravenswood… a little paddling in the dress on the big day?  No??!)… only kidding! x  Thanks for letting me share some photos, can’t wait to see you all again soon.
