Wonderful Winkworth Farm Wedding ~ Lucy & David ~

Cast your minds back to May 2014… it was hot hot hot and on one of those very hottest of days I had the absolute pleasure of shooting Lucy & David’s beautiful wedding in Wiltshire at Winkworth Farm – you can visit their website here.  We started the morning in The Cotswold Water Park Four Pillars Hotel – what a stunning location!  I was able to spend some time with both the boys and the girls as they got ready for the big day ahead.  Then I hot footed it up to the farm as the girls travelled in style in a vintage cream VW camper van from Bridal Bug Weddings – they had travelled further than me to be there on the day, I even remember passing them on the motorway thinking what a gorgeous camper it was!  (The driver was also so lovely making sure I had enough water to drink, it really was a hot day, did I mention that?!)…  After their lovely ceremony Lucy and David relaxed and celebrated with their friends and family.  We did a few group photos and I whisked them away for some nice romantic couples shots and a few fun ones by the camper too.  Then everyone sat down to enjoy the delicious BBQ food and heartfelt speeches.  I was lucky enough to be seated with some of Lucy’s family and I had such a giggle with them, I wanted to adopt her granny as my own!  Later, on the dance floor my new table friends did not disappoint with their moves – they were really rockin’ it, including granny!  I had a lovely day and enjoyed capturing every minute and have to say thanks to Emily & Matt whose wedding I shot in Wiltshire the year before for recommending me to Lucy & David.  I love a Wiltshire wedding so do get in touch if you or anyone you know is getting married there and needs a photographer for the day…  here’s some of my favourites – enjoy!

Anouska & James’ Beautiful Yellows and Greens April Wedding at Ghyll Manor

I can’t believe it, I’m actually blogging!  I think I’ve forgotten how to but one thing I haven’t forgotten is what a wonderful day Anouska & James’ beautiful yellows and greens April wedding was at Ghyll Manor just over 6 months ago!  That’s impossible…. it was just so much fun from start to finish.  Everyone was so kind and welcoming to me so I really felt a part of the day and could capture everything going on around me totally at ease..  Despite the damp dreary weather the gorgeous spring colours and the smiles on everyone’s faces brightened the day up no end.  Anouska got ready at her parents house where she and her brothers and sister grew up – I loved the giggly atmosphere between the girls all morning, they were all so happy that their best friend was tying the knot – but couldn’t quite believe how this meant they were all soooo grown up now!  The service in St Mary Magdalene church in Rusper with confetti to follow was lovely – very moving… and  the reception that followed at Ghyll Manor was great (such a fab venue) with Matt Wainwright pleasing the crowds with his amazing magic tricks.

I managed to convince Anouska & James to have a few couple’s portraits around the gardens in the rain – actually they didn’t need any convincing at all, they were up for it and the rain did not bother them one bit.  The speeches after the meal were great and had everyone in tears, oh and James’ mum had put together a slideshow for him and that really got me going too – there’s a mum who adores her boys like I do mine.  We had a good old chat about how fast it all goes… before I know it mine will be all grown up too and hopefully finding lovely partners like James did Anouska… such a perfect couple.  James scored many a brownie point with the firework display he surprised Anouska with too – what a fantastic guy! Then the country/barn dancing organised for the evening was such a laugh – I risked life and limb in the middle of the dance floor to get the shots I did  :O

I hope married life is good guys – thanks again for booking me all that long time ago and for letting me share some of your memories… if my little account of the day isn’t enough their wedding was also blogged on Way out Wedding back in May…. enjoy x

West Sussex Couple Portrait Session ~ Vanda & Csaba

A couple portrait session doesn’t have to be an engagement or a pre wedding shoot, you can have one any time you want in your life.  Any age, any stage of your relationship, any time, any place, any where!  Vanda & Csaba are already happily married and wanted to celebrate their love together in their new home in West Sussex with some photos of just the two of them.  I think I’m going to start calling my couple’s portrait sessions “Just the Two of Us”…. OK, so I’d always be there too of course, but with gentle guidance you can lose yourselves and be totally into one another for beautiful intimate photos even with gooseberry here snapping away!

Vanda & Csaba are just adorable, they really let me into their lives for just an evening and have already said those who know them well say I’ve captured them just how they are and always have been.  A love like theirs is so very special and you see that as soon as you meet them.  It has got them through some very hard times and just keeps growing stronger.  You can’t help but smile when you’re around them… so thank you for booking me you gorgeous couple you!!  Oh and for letting me share some of your photos on my blog…. hard to chose a favourite really!

Upwaltham Barns Spring Wedding ~ Nicola & Chris

Upwaltham Barns is such a beautiful wedding venue, I love it there so I was over the moon when Nicola and Chris asked me to photograph their wedding for them and what was even more special was they were having a church wedding in the very same one Steve and I got married in last year!  Perfect… !  I joined the girls at a lovely barn just down the road from me whilst they got made up and had their hair done – I love this part of the day and I had such a giggle with Nicola and her bridesmaids and not forgetting her lovely Dad who was there as well, making sure the champagne glasses were kept full – honestly the look on his face when he saw Nicola in her dress for the first time, I don’t think I’ll forget that moment in a while… it was so very special.  I also roped my friend Dean in for the morning from Dean Spearpoint Photography as Nicola wanted some shots of the boys getting ready too.  He did a fab job so thank you very much Dean!

Just being back in Holy Trinity church took me back to my wedding day just 3 months prior to Nicola and Chris’s, I was quite emotional (nothing new there then!).  The service was lovely, I’ve never seen the church so packed!  It was quite chilly outside afterwards so we didn’t hang about to do any family photos – just lots of natural shots and a bit of a confetti free-for-all then it was off up Duncton Hill to their stunning reception venue Upwaltham Barns to commence the celebrations!  And these guys definitely know how to party – everyone had so much fun!  I loved how they had decorated the barn Spriggs Florist had done an amazing job with the flowers and the cocktail names Nicola & Chris came up with for later were great too – it was proper happy hour in the barns that evening when they were served up!  Thanks again for booking me guys and I’m so pleased you are happy with your photos…
