Back in April I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Abby & Ian’s big / little day at the Weald & Downland museum! I say big / little as they really didn’t want any fuss at all – no speeches, no first dance, no rings, they even wanted to see each other before the ceremony (shock horror!!) 😉 Everything about their day was just perfect though and a true delight to photograph. I knew when I first met Abby & Ian in a pub in Lurgashall village that we would get along and their day sounded exactly as I’d like mine to be (one day!)… just one big happy party…! Abby chose a beautiful Vivien of Holloway number for her dress with a gorgeous pink frilly petticoat and both Abby & Ian wore cowboy boots from Sheplers which were oooh so funky! Most of their day was homespun and handmade. Ian made the ties, Abby’s mum made the bridesmaid’s dresses, her Dad the wooden signs and hearts and everyone clubbed together to make the cakes, cake stands, bunting etc.. etc… my camera was click click clicking away like crazy all day! The band “The Biggin Hillbillies” were brilliant – I wanted to get up and boogie with everyone else. The hog roast was delicious – and it just so happens I knew the people who run Forest Hogs and a fine bunch of folk they are too!
It rained, it poured, the sun shone and set and all the while Abby & Ian’s guests had the best time! I want to photograph it all over again! Here are some of my favourites… (there’s a lot!)… oh and their wedding was even featured on the amazing UK Wedding Blog Rock n Roll Bride – that’s worth a whopping great fat yeeeehaaaa surely?!!
I think this is my fave ever wedding of yours Nicki – I love everything about it!! Fabulous photos, I bet the couple were over the moon!!
