Fontwell Park Wedding ~ Samantha & Paul ~ West Sussex Wedding Photography

Fontwell Park is a fabulous venue for a wedding, such a fantastic mix of the old with the new, but Samantha & Paul completely fell in love with the old – not surprising when Samantha has just graduated with a degree in history (well done that lady!).  They especially loved the elegant Fontwell House building, that provides a beautiful setting in amongst the topiary lawns and gardens.  The day itself was glorious weather wise, the sun shone and we had brilliant bright blue skies.  I spent most of the morning with the girls as they got ready at Samantha’s parents’ house then up at Fontwell Park I just went with the flow of the day.  I say flow as there were tears, many tears during the ceremony then tears of laughter & joy later on.  Everyone had a wonderful time and the smiles on Samantha’s and Paul’s faces through out the day say it all really.  They spent months preparing for their wedding and I got many excited emails from Samantha on the lead up to the big day.  Seeing it all come together for them was such a joy, it was a real pleasure to capture all those cherished memories for them.  With all those pretty details and happy guests, I was one very content photographer!  Here are some of my favourites…

Wedding at Pendley Manor ~ Ann & Paul are Married

A wedding at Pendley Manor is a very grand affair don’t you know!  What an incredible place, a wonderful manor house and lovely grounds run by a great team and with the odd peacock roaming around – I can see why Ann & Paul chose this as their venue for their big day.  I’m great friends with Ann & Paul, we met years ago through greyhound rescue and it was just perfect that their 3 gorgeous hounds turned up to say hello to their “mum” & “dad” on their wedding day – it wouldn’t have been the same without an appearance from them!  It was such a hot end of July day though – and I mean stifling!  The little coloured fans came in very handy with their family and friends!  Then at about 3 o’clock the skies darkened and we had an almighty rain storm which cleared the air for the evening and made boogie woogie time on the dance floor a little bit more bearable!  I had such an amazing time at their wedding – their smiles are infectious and mixing and mingling in with their friends and family was such a pleasure – what a fab bunch!  I loved that the table names were all biscuits and we each had a little packet of our own!  I also love that the wedding favours were a little Greyhound Rescue West of England badge and a note saying a donation had been made on our behalf to the charity.  What a wonderful selfless idea and beats sugared almonds hands down! 😉

Here are some of my favourite photos from the day and lots more in the gallery below… enjoy!

Grittenham Barn Wedding ~ Claire & Ben are Married ~ West Sussex Wedding Photographer

I am sooo in love with this Grittenham Barn Wedding, it was such a fantastic day!  Claire looked absolutely stunning in her Maggie Sottero dress and the beautiful sunflower theme worked so well throughout the barn and the girl’s bouquets, right down to the chap’s button holes on their very dapper navy & grey suits.  The blues are yellows were bright and fun and colourful – much like the atmosphere all day.  We were blessed with blue skies and lots of sunshine too (more blues and yellows!) and the gardens were looking magnificent for the happy couple portraits we sneaked off to do just before the meal.  I don’t think Claire & Ben stopped smiling all day and I’m so pleased they booked me as their wedding made me smile all day too!  To top it off one of my new favourite bands popped along for the evening entertainment as well – The Hares.

Here are some of my favourite images from the day and quite a few more in the gallery below… enjoy!

Ramster Hall Wedding ~ Beth & Luke are Married ~

What an amazing Ramster Hall wedding I had the absolute pleasure of photographing for Beth & Luke back in July this year.  I think it was quite possibly the hottest, sunniest day of the year too!  Perfect for their sunflower (and err penguin!) theme!  I loved Beth’s dress – the detail on the bodice was absolutely beautiful and that coupled with her gorgeous shiny shoes gave Beth a real bit of sparkle on the day.   I’m sure Beth won’t mind me saying she has one of the most infectious smiles ever – when Beth smiles you can help but reciprocate and that’s just what everyone did on their day – friends and family alike and of course Luke…  he was nothing but smiles too!  Beth got ready with the girls back at their home – my friend Sarah from Enhance Make-Up was there to pretty everyone up too!  The ceremony was held in Luke’s former school chapel in Godalming, none other than Charterhouse.  Wow… what an incredible place, it’s HUGE!  Beth had a very grand entrance indeed!  I loved the service, and judging by the smiles and Luke’s happy dance I think they loved it too!  One of their dear friends and ushers raised the roof at the end with his fantastic operatic skills.  It was wonderful…  Then there were hugs and confetti and before everyone melted we hot footed it down the road to Ramster where glasses of Pimms & bubbles awaited, and the lovely Clive Harvey Ukulele Player to serenade us all!  Ramster Hall is such an interesting place, full of artefacts and oddities and little bits of history from all eras and regions.  It’s truly fascinating and a joy to go there with a camera.  The hall looked superb with the vibrant sunflowers, twinkly lights and Luke’s own photos as table names – he’s a darn good photographer himself so it’s always an honour to be asked to shoot a wedding from someone who knows their apertures from their f-stops  😉   The fabulous team from Jacaranda catering served up a delicious 3 course meal which everyone enjoyed and then after the emotional speeches I whisked Beth & Luke away for a much needed 10 minutes on their own.  Well, not quite on their own as I tagged along to take a few snaps!  The day seemed to go by so quick – and after they cut the cake it was Luke’s turn to whisk Beth round and round on the dance floor.  He was worried he’d never live it down but I saw nothing but impressed faces watching on – a true Fred & Ginger they were!  All that leaves is to say a huge thank you to….. my old couple Helen & Dan for recommending me and inviting Beth & Luke to their wedding so they had the chance to meet me and see me in action!!  haha – and of course to Beth & Luke themselves for trusting me with capturing the most precious memories of their day too…

Photo time!

Beautiful Home Spun DIY Wedding ~ Sam & Lucy are Married ~

Wow… what a beautiful home spun DIY wedding Sam & Lucy had back in July this year.  I was totally blown away by how amazing everything looked and how both their families had pulled together to make everything, grow everything & lovingly put it all together.  I loved it and if I was having a summer wedding it’s just how I’d want my big day to be!

Lucy was so excited about the dress she ordered from Grace Loves Lace in Australia (take a look and you’ll see why!).  It was a gamble not having tried it on prior to buying it but when the dress arrived it fitted like a glove.  She went for the dress called Emme and I’m sure you’ll agree looked absolutely stunning in it.  Sam went for a chinos, white shirt, bow tie and waistcoat laid back look and I have to say looked mighty fine!  What a handsome couple they make.  The fab bow tie was from Moaning Minnie on Etsy.  To finish the country garden summer party look their daughter and niece wore cute little dresses from Next which they looked adorable in.

They had hired a marquee for the back garden of Lucy’s parent’s house and B&B in Lodsworth and decorated it all so beautifully with many gorgeous flowers and glass jars and cart wheels hanging from the roof and trestle tables in rows & hay bails with rugs on as outside seating.  The weather was always going to be a worry but luckily it was a beautiful day – a little hazy but dry and bright and warm, perfect really.  The smashing chaps from Forest Hogs supplied the ever so delicious Hog Roast which everyone enjoyed and Sam’s mum made and decorated their fantastic cake.

They had the wedding ceremony itself in Arundel Town Hall and opted for all natural photos with no group shots afterwards – I love having free reign to capture all the atmosphere and fun of the wedding rather than organise everyone around into groups!  Then Lucy’s Uncle drove them back to Lodsworth in his vintage 1930s Railton.  What a beautiful car!  (I’m running out of adjectives of praise now aren’t I?)  I loved Lucy & Sam’s little happy couple session – so easy to “work” with – it never feels like work though, we just have a giggle together and I snap away!  The old family landy had to be in a few photos (Lucy climbed up on the bonnet too, what a star!) and unbelievably their lurcher dog who was heavily pregnant whelped her pups that day too – what a treat to be one of the first to capture them all snuggling up with their mum!

Finally, I have to mention the band they had to play in the evening – The Hares.  These guys are seriously good and everyone was up on the dance floor boogie-ing away!

There… I think that’s it!  Thank you so much Sam & Lucy for having me along to capture it all…. let’s see some pics!  😉
