Pre Wedding Photos ~ Emily & Matt the nearly newly weds!

Back in July the lovely Emily & Matt came all the way down and across from Gloucestershire to meet me and have some pre wedding photos done.  I knew I was going to just love these two before I met them in person, we’d had such a lovely chat on Skype when they booked me, we got on so well and we’ve been Facebooking to and fro ever since.  Their wedding at the Matara Centre in the Cotswolds is going to be amazing and there’s no need to say I can’t wait as I really don’t have to – its literally just over a couple of weeks away now!  This year is flying by!

Just look how gorgeous they are together… see you very soon guys xx

Stirlands Cricket Club of Birdham Marquee Wedding ~ Beth & Jim are Married …

This is the second Stirlands Cricket Club of Birdham marquee wedding I’ve done now and I have to say what an amazing venue it is, perfect for a laid back, fun wedding that you can really put your own stamp on – my kind of day!  Beth and Jim got married first just a stone’s throw away in the beautiful St Jame’s church next to the cricket ground and Beth and the girls got ready another stone’s throw away at her parents’ house just around the corner!  There was such a lovely family feel to their wedding and the weather was on our side too – a really beautifully sunny day to set off the vibrant pinks of the flowers and bridesmaids’ dresses.  I loved being a part of their day and even though they really didn’t want many couple’s portraits I managed to whisk them off for a quick walk around the grounds to take a couple of quick snaps and they also chose to swap their pre wedding shoot for the SNAPstick booth which was a whole lot of fun!  Oh and I leant something new at this wedding from the best man – hadoukening!!  You’ll have to google it but you can see our valiant attempt at it at the bottom of this post – go boys!!

Wakehurst Place Wedding ~ Lizzie & Chris ~ a couple of very happy campers!

When Lizzie and Chris booked me for their Wakehurst Place wedding back in May I honestly couldn’t wait to visit the gardens to see what backdrops we had to play with.  I had already met the gorgeous couple for a shoot Lizzie booked a couple of years ago on Chris’s birthday!  We hit it off straight away down at West Wittering beach and I was chuffed to bits when Chris proposed to Lizzie and they asked me to be the photographer for their wedding too.  Wakehurst Place is absolutely stunning – so many gorgeous places for photos!  We got lucky with the weather too (considering it was snowing and freezing cold when I visited the gardens, I think we were all a little relieved!)    The house that is usually open to the public is closed off when they hold weddings there and it’s such a beautiful place for a reception party. If you look carefully in the photo by the main door there’s even an E & a C engraved in the stonework – it was fate they should have their wedding there!  I should mention before the reception at Wakehurst they tied the knot in St Peter’s church down the road from where Lizzie grew up in Ardingly followed by Pimms & cupcakes in the Vicarage garden.  They had not one but two gorgeous camper vans as transport for the wedding party and a Beetle for themselves.  We were VW’d out to the max!

I had a wonderful time with Lizzie & Chris and their fantastic friends & family – what an amazing crowd!  I even did a shoot for one of Lizzie’s bridesmaid’s & her partner and doggy just the other day (hey there Lucy & Sean!)  I love all the pretty details at a wedding, it goes without saying (!!) but for me it’s always the people that really make it – the atmosphere and the love in the room…  and there was plenty of that to go around on Lizzie & Chris’s big day!

Here are some of my favourite photos …

If you’re getting hitched in 2014 please be in touch soon as I’m only taking a limited amount of bookings next year…  but I’d still love to hear from you! 🙂

Bluebell Woods Photo Shoot ~ Baby Arthur is sitting up at 7 months…

A couple of months ago I met with Arthur and his mummy & daddy for a bluebell woods photo shoot.  Arthur has already had 2 shoots from his “year in the life of” package.  One when he was but a beautiful bump and then another when he was a tiny baby (you can see that here).  Now at 7 months we got together again in the woods – we were lucky to still find any bluebells around, they were quite late this year.  I couldn’t believe it when I saw him though, my goodness how he had changed and he was sitting up too!  Such a scrummy little man, really adorable.  So smiley and happy – although at first he was a bit unsure we soon got some giggles and he even let us pop him back in the bath tub we used for his newborn shoot but this time in the woods amongst the bluebells – oh the indignity!  Looked cute though!

Here are some of my favourites from the shoot …

Can’t wait to see him again when he’s just turned 1 – he’ll hopefully even be toddling around if he isn’t already!
