Beautiful Wedding at Upwaltham Barns ~ Sean & Angela ~

Sean & Angela had such a beautiful wedding at Upwaltham Barns last July and it was a total pleasure to be a part of their day and photograph it all for them.  As florists they made a fantastic job of making sure the blooms were abundant and beautiful too and Angela’s Jenny Packham Great Gatsby inspired wedding dress “Esme” was just out of this world and she looked absolutely stunning in it.  Judging by the look on Sean’s face as she walked up the aisle I’d say he agreed with me on that one!

We started the day at the Avisford hotel whilst Angela and her bridesmaids and bridesman all got ready and we had a right giggle – then it was onto the lovely little cottage at Upwaltham to put on THE dress!  Sean surprised Angela with a giant cookie too – perhaps reminding her of the ceremony time!?!  I was able to flit between the bridal suite and the courtyard downstairs to snap the guests arriving and Sean & his best man meeting and greeting everyone, capturing moments that Angela was missing.

The ceremony itself was lovely, there were some very special readings and it was very emotional… then after some confetti throwing everyone grabbed an ice cream from Gelato Gemelli and we did a few group shots and then I whisked the happy couple off for 10 minutes on their own for some romantic portraits around the barns.

Everyone enjoyed a sit down meal in the main barn which looked gorgeous with lots more flowers and cute paper pom poms hanging from the ceiling.  Then the evening guests arrived, the DJ cranked up the volume and the party got into full swing!  I of course stayed on for a bit to capture some boogie woogie shots then just as I was leaving we managed to grab a quick sunset (ish!) shot in the kissing gate in front of the barn.

Such a wonderful day… hopefully you’ll all agree from the photos… enjoy!

Pretty Field Place Super Sunny Wedding ~ Faye & Rob ~

Faye & Rob’s pretty Field Place wedding day last June was just superb!  Super sunny, super fun, super pretty and super emotional.  Faye is a girl after my own heart – she wears hers on her sleeve like I do too and so I knew there would be plenty of giggles and some tears as well, happy ones of course!  They chose beautiful soft pastel flowers to decorate the tables in the barn with and the whole day had a wonderful laid back feel to it with bubbles as they emerged from the lovely ceremony room and ice creams later on the lawn by the reception barn.  We had such a laugh with the group photos and managed a few lovely couple shots too off on their own for 10 minutes.  Faye’s nephew & niece kind of stole the day a little bit – how cute are they?!  Just gorgeous….  I enjoyed every minute of their day and was made to feel such a part of it all.  The evening was fun too, Faye had always wanted a live band at the wedding and unbeknown to her, Rob had organised for a fantastic Bon Jovi tribute band (Born to be Jovi) to play an acoustic set – they were amazing (I happen to be friends with the lead singer and he sang a track at our wedding as well so it was great to hear them play again)!  Here’s a few of my favourite photos from the day, enjoy! …

Gorgeous Grittenham Barn Wedding ~ Sheralyn & Shane ~

Today I am delighted to be sharing with you a gorgeous Grittenham Barn laid back country wedding, that of Sheralyn & Shane’s from last May.  It was such a beautiful day; the couple, the guests, the details and of course the atmosphere was amazing too.  A day full of love and laughter and I really did enjoy every minute and every frame snapped!

I joined Sheralyn & the girls at her parent’s house in the morning, the lovely Charlotte from Polka dot Hair and Make-up was there to tame everyone’s locks and create some fabulous up dos & Debbie from Daisy Sussex was on hand to beautify everyone too.  Sheralyn took everyone’s breath away including her dad’s as she walked down the stairs and revealed her stunning Maggie Sottero dress for the first time.  Wow!

I left them all for a little alone time to join the boys at Boxgrove Priory where they were busy greeting guests and handing out orders of service.  I could feel the nervous excitement in the air there as everyone anticipated the arrival of the bride… especially Shane.  Sheralyn took a lot more people’s breath away that day as she walked down the aisle and their ceremony was just magical.  After some confetti and a few group shots we did some romantic portraits round the back of the church in the old ruins. What a backdrop!!

Later at the barns we did a few more couple’s portraits and fun group shots but as always I concentrated mainly on capturing the atmosphere – mixing and mingling in to snap those all important natural shots that really tell the story of the day.  I had fun with all the beautiful details too, Sheralyn & Shane had really gone to town with the flowers (by her auntie!) & bunting (all home made) & the large LOVE letters from Doris Loves – we couldn’t resist carefully taking them into one of the sheds for a “cool” shot!  The fun didn’t stop either as everyone boogied the night away to the fabulous band Frankie & Louie.

It really was the perfect wedding day and all came together so beautifully…. I know Sheralyn & Shane had the best day ever too and I’m so grateful to them for booking me. Their wedding has already been featured over on The Vintage Wedding Society blog but here are some of my favourites from the day too… enjoy!!

Beautiful Laid back Barn Wedding at Gaynes Park ~ Eloise & Laurence ~

Eloise & Laurence had such a beautiful laid back barn wedding at Gaynes Park last May, it really was such a visually pretty day with so many gorgeous blooms and little things they had thought of that really spoke of them – I call all of this prettiness camera candy!  Love it!!  Their love of France played a role as all the tables were named after iconic Paris land marks like La Tour Eiffel & Notre Dame or restaurants they love there like Le Petit Châtelet.  They also incorporated their favourite Disney characters Wall-E & Eva as cake toppers – I might have borrowed Wall-E for a ring shot a bit later too!  I loved their matching custom converse they put on for the evening so they could dance just that little bit longer in comfort and Eloise’s Essence dress was stunning, she looked breath taking ….  She got ready with the girls in some rented cottages but as soon as the Coach House at Gaynes was ready they moved on over there for the finishing touches – I thoroughly recommend this as the light and décor there lend themselves so beautifully for photos.  Perfect!  As always what really makes it for me though is the atmosphere and all the real moments I’m able to capture that the couple and their friends and family will look back on with smiles (and sometimes tears) and treasure forever.  And there were plenty of fab moments throughout their day!  Their friends and family were all so lovely, we had such a giggle during the group photos and the speeches were wonderful too.  Eloise & Laurence are a much loved couple and have so much love for each other as well.  It was a joy to be a part of their day and I enjoyed every minute.

Here are some of my favourites which will hopefully bring it all to life….

Grittenham Barn ~ Wonderful Rainy Day Wedding ~ Kevin & Emma ~

Kevin & Emma’s big day at Grittenham Barn last May was very wet…. a complete contrast to my last wedding (see previous blog post) which was bright glorious sunshine all day and hot hot hot.  That’s the thing about the weather you just cannot choose what you get on your day so why let it worry you or spoil anything?  Kevin & Emma definitely didn’t & I certainly never let it phase me either.  I have such great memories of their day, they are such an amazingly happy couple and all their friends and family had me giggling from start to finish!!  For me a wedding is all about the couple and their guests – they are what make it what it is…. not the weather…. and rest assured we can still get lovely photos as long as you bring a brollie or two and possibly even wellies!

I joined Emma getting ready in a beautiful little rented cottage – I have to thank the girls for helping me hang her beautiful dress by the fireplace.  We checked meticulously first if the bricks were dirty or not and one of her lovely bridesmaids balanced on a chair to hang it up high – all a bit of a palava but worth it for the shot I think!  Then I left them a bit earlier to get to the barn and capture the boys and guests arriving.  I love Grittenham such a beautiful rustic venue and a blank canvas you can really stamp your mark on.  The ceremony was such fun, we all sang “When I’m 64!” and Emma & Kevin had personal vows for each other which were so beautiful…. not a dry eye in the room!  There was a little break in the rain just after the ceremony so everyone was able to have drinks and throw confetti outside and we did a couple of group shots and a magician wowed the crowds (and me)! with his tricks.  Then the heavens opened again and everyone went indoors for the delicious meal and emotional speeches.  I snuck out again with Emma & Kevin for a few couple’s portraits and then we were gate crashed by their friends for some crazy singing in the rain shots!!  My sides ached – we all laughed so much….  I stayed on into the evening capturing the first dance and some boogie woogie pics – the dance floor was packed and rightfully so with Oomphf singing and playing their hearts out.  Amazing…. anyway enough waffle – here are some pics!
