Laura’s Lovely Lot (in L.A)! ~ Family & Pet Photographer, West Sussex

Sadly we did not jet off to the real L.A for this shoot, rather the L.A as in Littlehampton as us locals call it 😉  Great location though and award winning cafe with delicious fish & chips and cakes!  Laura won this photoshoot in a raffle – I donated it a while back to Lurcher SOS to help raise much needed funds to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome hounds (as an owner of 3 rescue hounds I always help out when I can with fundraising for these beautiful dogs…)  It’s also a subject close to their hearts as they rescued Gladys the gorgeous greyhound from Lurcher SOS themselves, and she is such a star too!  I wanted to take her home with me!!  I had a really fun morning – Laura & Paul’s daughters reminded me a bit of myself and my sister when we were younger!  The game they played with one behind the other, being the arms and hands for her sister – we used to do that too 🙂

I had a lovely email from Laura today that I hope she won’t mind me sharing…

“Oh my goodness!  Those photos are fantastic Nicki, thank you so much.  It is going to be so hard to choose……..I even like the one of me outside the Cafe – and I NEVER like photographs of me!
E looks particularly beautiful in many of them – I find it hard to recognise my beautiful baby in the very grown up young lady you have captured – and then I see the one of her and F falling off the log, and, yep…there she is!  You have also captured F’s wilder, slightly less lady-like side perfectly….I love them!  As for the one’s of Gladys…….just perfect.”

Thank you Laura for your kind words, it really was a pleasure!  Here are some of my favs….

Nothing beats watching greys running – OFF the track!

Reside Construction ~ Commercial Photography West Sussex

Stuart from Reside Construction contacted me the other day as he needed a couple of mug shots profile photos for his company website.  At first we were just going to do a couple of run-of-the-mill shots on a plain backdrop but as the weather was good and hard hats and fluorescent jackets are all the rage these days (!) Stuart agreed to a few on site pics as well.  I definitely prefer those shots.  Wonder which one he’ll use for his website…?!

If his business partners agree I might get to go back and photograph the grand opening of their latest building in a month or two and there may just be a celebrity cutting the ribbon!   Fingers crossed…!

Flower Power ~ Commercial Photographer West Sussex ~ Wedding Flowers Bognor Regis

I love love love flowers!  They make me smiiiile and they make me happy.  I love photographing flowers too as they never last long enough in vases!  Today I popped along to Daisy’s in Middleton-on-Sea – my favourite florist by far, owned and run by the lovely Lou.  We have very similar tastes – that gorgeous shabby chic, vintage look.  Mmmmmm 🙂  I could quite happily just move into her shop and live there!  Beautiful!  I just so happened to have my camera on me and we have spoken in the past about me doing some promo shots for Lou’s website so I took a few tester / taster pics today.  More to come soon when Lou has some gorgeous wedding bouquets done up – she is so clever at putting together the right colours, combinations and textures.  Be sure to pop in and see what she can offer you if you’re looking for wedding flowers or flowers for any occasion.

Lou doesn’t just arrange and sell the most beautiful flowers but her shop is full of so many other gorgeous goodies – lots of hearts, jewlery, cards, art work, bunting… perfect for a Mother’s Day gift or birthdays or Christmas – and she’s got lots of Easter stuff just coming in too!

Photobucket

and whilst I was there a lady popped in and asked for a bouquet of pinks and Lou put this amazing bunch together… <3

Photobucket

Steve if you read this – I like that bunch above I do, very pretty indeed! 😉

Visiting Friends ~ Family Photo shoot ~ London

Last weekend we drove up to London to visit one of my dearest school friends and her gorgeous family.  Zoe and I go back a long way (eeek we’re getting old!) and she’s one of those amazing friends that’s always there for me no matter what and if we don’t manage to speak to eachother for long periods of time (which is more than often the way!) we can still pick up where we left off.  We had a great giggle and she cooked a scrummy lunch for us all (talk about super mum!) and then we all went for a lovely walk.  They’ve actually booked me for a family photoshoot later this year in the glorious goodwood sculpture park – can’t wait!  So this was a kind of warm up / snap shot session with my kids there too!  5 boys between us – how on earth?!  Thanks for having us Zoe and Charlie – see you all soon! xx

First signs of Spring…

London is such an exotic place! Just look at the wildlife!

I just loved the derelict Rapunzel’s castle type tower!  Anyone fancy a trash the dress sesh there?!!

Photobucket

They we were worn out shattered when we got back!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Time for a quick tea, bath then bed for them and home for us!

Photobucket

If you would like a fun family photo shoot (don’t worry I don’t usually bring my entire family with me on these and certainly don’t demand lunch, tea and a bath!) then please give me a shout on nickifeltham@btinternet.com or call 01243 587517.  Thanks x

Arundel Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust ~ A day out with the family & Lots of pics of ducks!

We’re members of the Wildfowl and Wetlands trust and I love it up at the Arundel centre – our toddler Elijah is in his element there, he really enjoys feeding the ducks and there are plenty that will come up and actually take seed from your hands!  I love the photo opportunities so I’m in my element too – I mustn’t grumble about the kit I own but I do get lens envy when I’m there!  Oh to own a mahooosive zoom lens and a camera that fires off 9 frames per second!  I would love to sit in a hide all morning with the professional wildlife photographers snapping away but I think my kids would disturb the peace a bit too much!  Did you know they did weddings there though?  Please someone book me for a wedding at Arundel Wildfowl and Wetlands trust!

Anyway here are some pics – if I had a spare pair of hands when I’m out and about I would make a note of all the different breeds!  So answers on a postcard if you know any 😉

Seth spent 5 minutes in the pushchair before he decided enough was enough and I popped him in the rucksack – we’d be lost without the pushchair though, it carries all the bags around!  What will I do when my kids don’t need a pushchair anymore – where will I put everything?!

Photobucket

Photobucket

This pair of geese were so funny, they were shouting at us and following us till we gave them more seed!

Watch the birdie!

Photobucket

We stopped and watched the staff trying to round up some ducks and move them to a different enclosure – the Benny Hill music would have been good to listen to at this point!  They got there in the end though.
