An afternoon tea wedding with lots of little sandwiches with the crusts cut off, an abundance of macaroons, oodles of pots of tea, handfuls of strawberries with big dollops of cream and a dozen different types of delicious mini cakes? Go on then, yes please!!! That’s just what the gorgeous Louise and Will planned for their big day last September and it really was perfect! After the lovely service up the road in Thakeham church (sadly their local Itchingfield church was covered in scaffolding so they had a last minute change of plans!), everyone headed back to the family home for the glorious reception in Louise’s parents garden and Barn – Hell Fyre – for the most sumptuous afternoon tea I’ve ever seen. So far their barn has only been used for family and friends’ weddings and special occasions but please contact the owners by email at louise.prince@prince.org.uk if you think you too would enjoy an afternoon tea wedding reception here (or any type of wedding for that matter!) as Louise’s parents are in the throes of getting planning permission for commercial weddings with the actual ceremony license part in hand too. How exciting! The barn has such gorgeous grounds too and room for a marquee if you like and a big kitchen area for your caterers…
Louise got ready that morning in the family home with her beautiful bridesmaids and the lovely Wedding Hair by Leanne came to do the hair and Emma Hooley the make-up. The bridesmaids and flower girl’s dresses were all so fantastically made by Louise’s mum (also called Louise) but the actual wedding gown Louise wore belonged to her dear grandma and was worn by her at her own wedding a few decades prior! It fitted Louise like a glove and with no alterations, it really could have been made for her… – like grand mother, like grand daughter!
They had a wonderful string quartet playing at the church and for part of the reception – such a joy to listen to and very fitting with the feel of the day – The Bossard Quartet. The caterers who made the hundreds of little sandwiches and pulled it all together were the fabulous Heather Lynn Catering of Slinfold tel: 07977 465 216 and the flowers were beautifully arranged and supplied by Stems of Southwater.
I loved all the little touches at their wedding, they really had thought of everything – Will’s mum made the cake, friends had made hilarious badges with the happy couple on and the page boy was awarded chocolate medals to match Will’s real ones! So sweet…
Anyway, it’s about time we saw the photos from this super wedding day… there are lots, far too many but I make no apologies! Hope you enjoy…!
